Stout, Solobay Announce Local Energy Efficiency Grant
HARRISBURG, November 6, 2009 - - State Sen. J. Barry Stout and state Rep. Tim Solobay today announced that a state grant totaling $13,000 will soon be awarded to Ametek Inc. Specialty Metal Products, of Eighty Four, under the Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant Program.
The grant will be used to purchase and install energy efficiency T-8 lighting and occupancy sensors to replace existing T-12 fluorescent lamps to conserve energy.
“It is imperative that businesses do everything in their power to become more energy efficient,” Stout said. “This new grant program will help encourage energy efficiency and I am very happy to see these funds being applied locally.”
"The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant Program is a smart use of tax dollars," Solobay added. "Not only will it help businesses cut their electric bills, but it will help to reduce energy use across the Commonwealth."
The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant Program provides a 25 percent reimbursement grant, up to a maximum of $25,000 to enable Pennsylvania small businesses to acquire certain pieces of equipment that promote energy efficiency.
