Stout & White Announce Funding for Washington County

HARRISBURG, April 13, 2009 -- State Sen. J. Barry Stout and Rep. Jesse White announced today a state grant of almost $420,000 for Keystone T Ventures on behalf of Morgan Road Associates, LLC (MRA) for construction of a “flex” building in Starpointe Business Park.

“This funding is an excellent investment considering the success of Starpointe Business Park and the first “flex” building being at 100 percent capacity” Stout (D-Washington) said. “Creating more business opportunities at this superb location is an excellent way to boost our economy in Washington County.”

Stout said that the grant will be used to finance the construction of a 28,800 square foot building in Hanover Township, Washington County to be used for manufacturing. The building can be divided into six bays each with a loading dock. Manufacturers will be given the opportunity to expand by purchasing a parcel in the business park on which to build a permanent facility.

"This is excellent news for our region and another example of how cooperation between the state and local officials, local organizations and businesses can benefit area residents and minimize or even eliminate local outlay for improvements," White (D-Washington) said. "The jobs created by businesses in this structure and, hopefully, later with a move to larger space within the Starpointe Business Park, will mean a better lifestyle for the individuals employed there and added fiscal stability for local communities where they live."

MRA was formed through a partnership of the Washington County Council on Economic Development, the owner of the Starpointe Business Park and Fourth River Development, LLC. The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved the loan under the “Building PA” program today at a board meeting in Harrisburg.
